How do I go about taking a room?
First contact Midwinter Koval. They will assess your requirements and then show you all available rooms to satisfy your needs.
Will I have to give references?
Yes, Midwinter Koval will get you to fill in an application form. References normally include from an employer, previous landlord and a character reference.
What else?
Midwinter Koval will also carry out a credit check?
How do I reserve a room?
Midwinter Koval will ask you to put down their administration fee. This will normally hold the room up to a month (in case you need to give a month’s notice to your current landlord).
How quickly can I move in?
Subject to the above, it can be possible to move you in within a few days.
How long do I have to take the property for?
You will be given a 6 month tenancy, but you can give a month’s notice at any time without penalty.
What do I pay?
You will be asked to pay the 1st month’s rent in advance and a deposit equivalent to 1 month’s rental. Future rent will be paid by standing order.
Can I have a bigger room if one comes available?
Yes at any time you can ask to move to a bigger room. There may be a small administration fee.
Are there any other hidden costs?
No! As discussed rents are inclusive of bills.
Do you insure my things?
No! You will have to get your own contents insurance. We will insure the buildings and our own contents.
Are there any house rules?
Yes there are some house rules. However these are intended to make the house a nicer place to live for you and your house mates.
Can I have people over?
Yes, as long as the other tenants are not inconvenienced.
Do you let to couples?
Occasionally a house may be designated for couples. You must let Midwinter Koval know if this is a requirement at the time of viewing.
